First, a brief and completely misleading history of football formations:
1877: The 2-3-5 formation was first recorded.
1925: A change in the offside law led to the creation of the WM system (3-2-2-3).
1958: Brazil won the World Cup with a 4-2-4, the first formation to be described using numbers.
1969: Ajax pioneered the use of totaalvoetbal: no formation.
2010: Four One Three Two was started.
So that answers any questions about the origins of this blog. Moving on.
Contrary to its name, this is not going to be a soccer blog. Well, not much anyway. There are no limits. Except two. First, I am the writer. Whatever appears here comes from me; either original thoughts or things I've come across. That means this blog will discuss my interests, and be shaded by my views.
Second, you are the reader. It is assumed that the reader knows English, or is using a reliable dictionary/translator, in which case it is assumed that the reader-dictionary/translator system understands English. Beyond that not much needs to be assumed; the reader chooses the work, and the work selects its readers. Note: The author reserves the right to use any of ten other languages at his discretion.
As a lecturer once said, it is very hard to write without any limitations. Like how you need a box in order to think out of it, if you will. Well, now I have a six-yard box and an eighteen-yard box to work with. I think that will be enough.
